“Wilkommen!, Bienvenue!, Welcome!,” sings the Emcee of the Kit Kat Club through painted lips, as the people of 1929 Berlin join him. Whatever your troubles, you will forget them at the Cabaret.
Set in the decadent Berlin of the early 1930’s during the uninhibited era of the Weimar Republic, it sets the rise of the Nazis against the apathy of the masses, and describes a wind of change that would have terrifying consequences for all. Songs include: “It Couldn’t Please Me More”,”Wilkommen”, “Cabaret”, “Don’t Tell Mama” and “Money Makes the World Go ‘Round.” Kander and Ebb’s stunning songs and fascinating characters.

Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Gondoliers is the story of a young bride of the heir to a throne who arrives in Venice to join her husband. It turns out, however, that he cannot be identified, since he was entrusted to the care of a drunken gondolier who mixed up the prince with his own son. Presented by Los Angeles ’ Opera a la Carte, directed by Richard Sheldon.

The Long & Winding Road

Jim Witter’s “The Long and Winding Road ” features 30 songs from the Lennon-McCartney catalog, including “Yesterday,” “ Penny Lane,” “Hey Jude” and “Let It Be.” The multimedia production uses screens to display images and tell the stories behind the songs. Witter, on piano, is accompanied by a drummer, bassist, guitarist and keyboardist. “The Long and Winding Road ” is not an impersonation of the Beatles, Witter stressed. “More than anything, it honors the music and the song writing,” he said.

Acclaimed artist Jim Curry performs Rocky Mountain High, Sunshine on My Shoulders, Take Me Home Country Roads, and many more. Jim Curry was the voice of John Denver in the CBS-TV movie Take Me Home: The John Denver Story.
