		<description><![CDATA[During the holiday season, the Zoo is transformed into a winter wonderland. The Lights Before Christmas holiday event features over <I>one million </I>lights, over 200 images of some of your favorite animals, ice-carving demonstrations on Thursday evenings, carolers, holiday treats, the Swanton Area Railroad model trains, and visits with Santa in the Indoor Theatre**. Also be sure to check out our 85-foot Norway spruce located behind the Conservatory. Adorned with over 32,000 lights, this spruce boasts more lights than the famous Christmas tree in New York City&#146;s Rockefeller Center! You can also find unique gifts and souvenirs in the North Star Trading Post&#174; gift shop. Don&#39;t miss out on this family tradition!

It is one day each year that is guaranteed to lift spirits and brighten outlooks.

<P>Guests begin their journey into the 19th century when they step out of their automobiles. A footman stands ready to assist them into a horse-drawn carriage that transports them to the carriage entrance of the Hayes Home. There soldiers of the Union Army stand at attention to escort guests into the house. This elegant evening features a six-course Victorian feast served in the 31-room mansion of our 19th President. 
<P>Guests begin their journey into the 19th century when they step out of their automobiles. A footman stands ready to assist them into a horse-drawn carriage that transports them to the carriage entrance of the Hayes Home. There soldiers of the Union Army stand at attention to escort guests into the house. Inside, costumed wait staff see to every need as period entertainment echoes through the elegant presidential home.

The <B>Ward Pavilion</B> is located at the east entrance of Wildwood Metropark (corner of Central and Corey &#150; behind the brick farmhouse). Then proceed and view beautiful holiday decorated Ottawa Hills&#146; homes. Participating florists are Bumble, Keith H. Brooks Florist and Glendale Flowers and Gifts. Finish by touring Wildwood Metropark&#146;s Holidays in the Manor House. It&#146;s free!

		<description><![CDATA[Come join us for this special holiday experience... an opportunity to experience a turn-of-the-century Christmas at Sauder Village! The flicker of a candle-lit lantern will light the way as our costumed interpreter, through a personalized, guided lantern tour, takes small groups on a journey to meet historical characters in the 1910 Homestead, the District 16 Schoolhouse, Villages&#39; St. Mark&#39;s Church and the Train <FONT face="Times New Roman" color="#000000"><B><IMG height="175" src="http://www.saudervillage.org/Creativity/images/events_page_pics/2009/Holiday_Lantern.jpg" width="222" align="right" border="0"></B></FONT>Depot. Guests will be invited to experience the holiday customs and celebrations of the 1900s in Northwest Ohio as along the way, your guide will share stories about Christmas&#39; past and the history of Northwest Ohio. Participants will also <I>"meet"</I> people from the past as part of the program. Because this is a personalized guided tour, guests will be encouraged to ask questions and interact with their guide. At the church, all will join in a hymn sing and receive a special gift appropriate to the late 1800s.
