The Sylvania Historical Village takes you back in time for an up close and personal
look at late 19th century life in a compact and beautiful setting located in the
heart of Sylvania’s historic downtown. The Village is home to a 1902 house that was
home and office to a local doctor; an 1840 log home that is furnished with appropriate
items depicting pioneer life; the1858 train depot of Sylvania that is the oldest existing
depot in Ohio; a train barn which houses a 63-ton, 1915 electric locomotive built for the
Toledo & Western Interurban Railroad and 1924 wood caboose similar to one used by the
Toledo, Angola and Western Railroad; and a replica of a 1860s era Stone One Room School.
Changing exhibits and events celebrate our heritage. Our Shops at the Village feature
a wide variety of unique and handcrafted gifts. Group tours are welcome by appointment.
The Historical Village buildings, gardens and grounds are also available for small
social gatherings including teas, luncheons, bridal and baby showers and more.
