Ritter Planetarium/Brooks Observatory

The planetarium is a 40-foot domed auditorium seating 92, with a central projector capable of reproducing the sky as seen from anywhere on Earth at any time and speeding up time to show how the sky changes. It is ideal for displaying and pointing out constellations and the Sun, Moon, and planets, and for giving the feeling of our Earth moving through space. It includes many auxiliary projectors and other devices designed to illustrate various astronomical phenomena.

Outside the planetarium is a lobby with various displays, many of them interactive. Brooks Observatory, located in McMaster Hall, contains refracting and reflecting telescopes for viewing the heavens. McMaster Hall also houses a solar telescope and a display for viewing sunspots and other phenomena on the Sun.
